CARLOS FERRER PLAZA
PhD in Literature in Spanish Language (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid – 2016)
Brief CV: He holds a degree in Hispanic Philology from the Autonomous University of Madrid (2000), a master’s degree in Hispanic Philology from the Autonomous University of Madrid (2009), and a PhD in Spanish Literature from the Autonomous University of Madrid (2016). Since 2013, he has been a professor of Spanish Language and Literature at the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV). He is a member of the research groups (CNPq), Studies and Translations of Spanish Theater (UFRJ), and the Research Group in Literary and Cultural Studies (UFV). He has experience in the field of Literature, with an emphasis on Spanish Literature, working mainly on the following themes: Spanish literature in the 16th and 17th centuries; trends in contemporary narrative; and the relationship between literature and political authoritarianism in the 19th and 20th centuries.

GERSON LUIZ ROANI

Brief CV: Gerson Luiz Roani is a Full Professor at the Federal University of Viçosa. He holds a degree in Portuguese Language and Literature from the Federal University of Santa Maria (1995), a Master’s in Literature (Comparative Literature) from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (1998), a PhD in Literature (Comparative Literature) from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (2002) and a Post-Doctorate in Portuguese Literature from the University of Coimbra (2013-2014). He works in the Literature area at the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV), Minas Gerais, working in the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programs in Literature. From 2008 to 2013, he was coordinator of the PPGLET/UFV. From June 2015 to May 2016, he resumed the role of coordinator of the PPGLETRAS/UFV. At UFV, he coordinated the CAPES/University of Coimbra – Letters/UFV-U Coimbra International Degree Program (2011-2013). He served in the UFV Provost’s Office for Research and Graduate Studies (2014) as Special Advisor and Institutional Coordinator of PIBIC/CNPq, PIBIC-AF, PIBIC/FAPEMIG, PIBITI-CNPq, and CAPES Jovens Talentos, among other research programs. LUCIANA BRANDÃO LEAL

PhD and Master’s in Letters – Literatures of the Portuguese Language, from the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais (CAPES). PQ2 CNPq productivity scholarship holder. Professor at the Federal University of Viçosa, working at the Florestal campus. Permanent professor of the postgraduate programs in Letters at the Federal University of Viçosa and UNEMAT, Sinop campus. She worked as a visiting researcher at the University of Lisbon, with a CAPES sandwich doctoral scholarship. She coordinates the research projects: “The poetic production of Portuguese-speaking African countries in the 20th century” (funded by CNPq – 2022-2025) and the research project “Women of Africa: studies on female poetry in Portuguese-speaking African countries” (funded by FAPEMIG – 2022-2025). Member of the GEED research group – Research Group on Diasporic Aesthetics, coordinated by Professor Maria Nazareth Soares Fonseca. She is a member of the editorial board of literÁfricas – UFMG (NEIA/GEED). Her articles on Visual Arts, Brazilian Literature, and African Literatures in Portuguese have been published in national and international books and academic journals. Since 2014, she has dedicated herself to the study of African Literatures in Portuguese – Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, and São Tomé and Príncipe – and the poetry produced in these countries throughout the 20th and 21st centuries. Brief CV: Graduated in Literature from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), she holds a master’s degree and a postdoctoral degree from the same institution. She holds a PhD from Purdue University and a postdoctoral degree from Stanford University in the United States. Professor in the Department of Letters at the Federal University of Viçosa and Permanent Collaborator of the Graduate Program in Letters at the same institution. She holds a degree in Letters (Portuguese/English) from the Federal University of São Carlos, and a master’s and doctorate in Literary Theory and Comparative Literature from the University of São Paulo. She is the author of the book *Um leitor inconformado: Álvares de Azevedo e a literatura comparado* (A Nonconformist Reader: Álvares de Azevedo and Comparative Literature) (2022), based on her doctoral thesis. ADRIANA DA SILVA
PhD in Linguistics (State University of Campinas – 2004)
Brief CV: Full Professor in the Department of Letters at the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV). She works in the Undergraduate Program (Portuguese Language/Linguistics) and in the Graduate Program in Letters (Applied Linguistics). She holds a degree in Letters from the Higher Education Foundation of São João del-Rei (1994), a master’s degree in Linguistic Studies from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1997), and a PhD in Linguistics from the State University of Campinas (2004). She completed a postdoctoral internship at PUCMinas (2012) and training at Northern Arizona University (2018). She has been linked to the Graduate Program in Letters at UFV since 2009, concentrating in Linguistic Studies, working in the Applied Linguistic Research line: Teacher Training and Language Teaching and Learning. She was coordinator of the Languages/Portuguese area of PIBID UFV from March 2017 to April 2019. Since 2022, she has been a representative of Associate Professors on the Departmental Council of the Center for Human Sciences (CCH). She is co-leader of the research group GOE – Oral and Written Genres: Theory and Teaching. ANA LUISA BORBA GEDIEL

Brief CV: Professor in the Department of Letters, linked to the area of Brazilian Sign Language – LIBRAS, since 2010, at the Federal University of Viçosa – UFV. She is a professor in the Graduate Program in Languages, specializing in Applied Linguistics: Teacher Training and Language Teaching and Learning (DLA/UFV). She holds a postdoctoral degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), at the Center for Language, Interaction and Culture (CLIC), completed in 2015/2016, and from the Erickson Institute in Chicago, completed in 2023/2024. She is a researcher with a Productivity Grant in Technological Development and Innovative Extension (DT), linked to the CNPq (Central National Council for Educational Development) (2023-2026). She is an associate researcher with the CNPq Research Group: Beliefs about Language Teaching and Learning (CEALI-UFV) and (Inter)Cultural Linguistics (UFMG). Her research focuses on accessibility through the use of technologies in education. Her studies cover initial and continuing teacher training. involving more than two languages as a means of communication and didactic construction for classroom use. Technologies are researched as a means of producing teaching materials to promote inclusion for Deaf students, ranging from Basic Education to Higher Education, in the public education context.

IDALENA OLIVEIRA CHAVES
PhD in Theoretical and Descriptive Linguistics (Federal University of Minas Gerais – 2013)
Brief CV: Assistant Professor in the Department of Letters at the Federal University of Viçosa, coordinator of the Extension Course in Portuguese for Foreigners, of the Languages Without Borders Program, and of the Celpe-bras exam administrator. She is also linked to the postgraduate program in Letters, in the research line “Applied Linguistics: Teacher Training and Language Teaching and Learning”. She has a postdoctoral degree in Portuguese as a heritage language and a PhD in Theoretical and Descriptive Linguistics (2013), a Master’s degree in Linguistic Studies (2000) and a degree in Letters from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1996). She worked with Portuguese as an additional language in the extension program at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (CENEX-FALE) for over ten years and served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Brazilian Studies at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies Yongin, South Korea, for one year. She currently researches the learning of Portuguese as a Heritage Language (PLH) and the acquisition of non-native Portuguese, as well as the use of digital media in PFL teaching. She was an Early Childhood Education teacher from 1997 to 2000. She taught Early Childhood Education and Literacy and Methodology of Portuguese in the Pedagogy program at the Higher Education Institution in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais (UniBH) from 2004 to 2014. She has experience in Literature with an emphasis on Linguistics and Applied Linguistics, focusing on the following topics: language acquisition, linguistic variation, reading, language-writing-literacy, phonetics and phonology, spelling, and Portuguese as a foreign language. She also works on the development, administration, and evaluation of the Portuguese as a Foreign Language Proficiency Exam (Celpe-bras) at the Anísio Teixeira National Institute for Educational Studies and Research (INEP). She was President of the Minas Gerais Association of Portuguese as a Foreign Language Teachers (AMPPLIE) from 2016 to 2021. She has written books on Portuguese for Foreigners. PhD in Literature from the University of São Paulo (USP – 2017). Bachelor’s degree in Literature (Portuguese/Literatures of the Portuguese Language) and Master’s degree in Literature from the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV – 2011 and 2013, respectively). She has experience in Literature, with an emphasis on Applied Linguistics, working mainly in the following subareas: Language Policies and Political Discourse Analysis. She is a Professor and researcher at the Federal University of Viçosa – Viçosa Campus.
